The Story

Endless Rain

Part 11: Cryptic Visions

"It has been raining today again."

"Yes. I know. As always."

"Sometimes I think we will drown." Hitori admitted, looking through a window; that oddly enough wasn't attached to a wall. It was like the window was floating in the immense darkness around her.

"I wouldn't be surprised." A woman joined her. She has a rough looking appearance, and looked even dangerous, but she stood next to Hitori as if they were friends.

"We stopped sending messengers." Hitori placed her hand on the window.

"Sorry about that."

"It's okay Kyen Koh." Hitori smiled, "We figured out soon enough that you weren't who you said you were."

"I didn't lie about everything." Kyen Koh said, "I did give my services to you. And, I did like you. But the Sendo..."

Hitori nodded, "I understand. You are their leader. You are expected to order to kill us."

"One person can change. Two persons can change. But an entire tribe..."

"Why do you keep on visiting me Kyen Koh?" Hitori turned around, "We are supposed to be enemies. Why do you keep on visiting me Kyen Koh?"

"I already told you Hitori." Kyen Koh spoke again, "I like you. You are still a young chieftess, and have a lot to learn. But, if you stay here, you will never learn that."

"What do you mean?"

"The Sendo are getting thirsty again. For blood." Kyen Koh said, shocking Hitori. "I don't know how long I can keep them under control." Hitori stepped closer, and Kyen Koh stretched out her arm, stopping Hitori, "If they find out I've been helping you, they'll surely kill me. And then there is no stopping to them any more."

"But... but..." Hitori stammered.

"Find the 5 crystals Hitori!" Kyen Koh ordered her, "Find The Passage of the Rainbow, and then you will finally find what your tribe has been longing for!"

"I.... I don't understand." Hitori trembled, "How do you know...?"

"That doesn't matter." Kyen Koh said, "Leaving this valley of Endless Rain is your only hope! Just remember... outside this dream world... I am NOT your friend!"

Hitori shook up. Her heart was beating in her chest, as she looked around. Rain softly ticked on her window, and Hitori stepped out of her bed. She carefully walked at the window, placing her hand on the cold glass.

"It's raining again..." Hitori mumbled, and thought about her dream. Was it a dream, or something more? Did Kyen Koh and she really talk? And was Kyen Koh really not that evil? It was a bit hard to understand for her.

Half a year ago things had been so easy. She was still a follower of Shuhan, leader of the Mikomi Tribe. And now, he was gone, and she was left. Alone. In a cold bed, longing for his warm embrace once more. She loved him; still loved him with all her heart. And within her, she could feel he was still with her, guiding her.

"Shuhan..." Hitori whispered his name, and felt his spirit close to her. Tears streamed over her cheeks, dripping on the floor. "I can't do this alone..."

"So, my young boy." The man smiled and welcomed the young man.

"I got your message." Nagata cleared his face from the rain, "I came as fast as I could. Lightning had a bit trouble going through the muddy paths, but well... here we are!"

"I can see that. Please, sit down. You want some tea?" The man offered a seat.

"No, thanks." Nagata sat down, "So, what was the emergency?"

The man sat down as well. Nagata knew him well. It was the man who helped Shuhan once, and was the one who send him to the Sendo Tribe to help in the battle. A mysterious man, yes, and he didn't even know his name yet.

The man went with his hand over his face. "You know I only want what's best for the Mikomi, right?" Nagata nodded. "Lately, I've been having some visions. They foresee a departure..."

"Really?" Nagata was curious, "Zesshou already said something about trying leaving this valley. But, that's impossible."

"I'm not so sure about that..." Nagata looked curious at the man. "Have you ever heard of The Passage of the Rainbow?"

Nagata nodded, "Sure! That fairytale! It's said that those who go through it, will finally reach Heaven!" Nagata laughed, "That passage does not exist."

"I beg the differ!" Nagata stopped laughing. "Honestly, I have no proof yet, but I think it does exist! And it is the only chance of the Mikomi Tribe!"

Nagata looked at him, "You are really serious, aren't you?" The man nodded. "But, where is it then?!"

"I don't know." The man admitted, "In my visions I also saw 5 crystals. The Hikari Crystals."

"Okay, that's it." Nagata stepped up, "Enough of these fairytales! The Hikari Crystals? That's nonsense!" He turned around.

"The Pearl of the Ocean, captured in a blue crystal." The man continued, not caring that Nagata was turned away from him, "The Ruby of the Dragon, captured in a red crystal, the Emerald of the Earth, captured in a green crystal, and the Diamond of the Angel, captured..."

"In a white crystal." Nagata finished, "And the Light of the Soul, captured in a crystal more beautiful than anyone can imagine." Silence fell. "Are you saying they exist?"

"Only with them you can open The Passage of the Rainbow." the man finished, "How, I do not know, but you need them, but beware. If the Sendo finds out, all is lost. Because their greed and lust for blood, will let the Hikari Crystals turn black..."
