"I saw it first!" Nagata yelled. "And I will beat the monster first as well!"
"That is not true!" Kino said back, "That's so typical for you youngsters! You copy an idea from a wise elder, and then claim it to be your own!"
"What, you are still busy with that, grandpa?!"
"I am NOT your grandpa!!"
Hitori sighed deeply and turned to Wevli, the guard. "I was kinda hoping Kino forgot about that..."
"You have to admit, Kino sure has a great memory for an old guy." It was strange to hear Wevli saying an entire sentence without his 2 brothers
They watched Kino and Nagata quarrelling for a bit longer. It was obvious Kino still thought Nagata was too young for an advisor, and that Hitori should listen to him.
"The old often have great life experience, yet the young can bring new light." Hitori mumbled, but of course no one listened. "I'm going to browse for clues; you coming Wevli?"
Wevli nodded, "Is it wise for them to stay here?"
"Well, they are scaring away all animals, and we didn't see any soldiers so... I guess." Honestly Hitori didn't really care. She just wanted to get out of there. Away from that bickering! She was a leader now, and had to listen to the advise of her council, but right now the council was in a petty fight! And trying to cool them down wouldn't help- she already knew that. They'd just grumble, apologize, and then it would start all over again.
Zesshou was still in pursuit of the Sendo Warrior. 'Damn, we're coming closer to the Sendo Tribe! If I won't act soon, that demon Kyen Koh will learn about the Hikari-' But Zesshou stopped thinking.
An arrow flew through the air, all of a sudden, and pierced itself in the Sendo warrior's back. While the horse drove on, the warrior fell on the ground and didn't move at all any more.
Zesshou looked around; where did that arrow come from??
Suddenly his eyes caught a glimpse of a shadow, as well as something... red? Shiny red? As if it was a jewel... but it vanished in the woods. But, whoever it was, he or she sure helped Zesshou. Zesshou mounted off, to check if the warrior indeed was dead. Yes, he was; no heartbeat was felt in his chest.
Zesshou then inspected the arrow. His heart skipped a beat, but then he shook his head. An arrow from the Chi Tribe?! Impossible! The Sendo killed the entire tribe; there were no survivors! It couldn't be one of the Chi Tribe. Someone must have stolen that arrow. Yes, that must have been the reason!! Then, Zesshou quickly turned around, jumped on Lightning, and drove back to Hana and the other 2 guards.
"Hey, these walls look different." Hitori noticed. Wevli nodded. "It's like man made these walls." Hitori continued.
"Mankind isn't able to do such craftsmanship." Wevli shook his head, "This looks worthy of the great God Afrian!"
"You think we're on the right track?" Hitori asked, and Wevli nodded. "Well then, let's go!" And while they stepped into the corridor, the bickering of Kino and Nagata vanished in the distance.
"Zesshou!" Hana ran at him, "Praise Afrian, you're all right! Why did you run off like that?"
Zesshou mounted off, "Don't worry; I'm fine! I just wanted to make sure that warrior didn't reach Kyen Koh."
"You killed him?!" Hana exclaimed and clapped her hands before her mouth, gasping.
Zesshou waved his hands, "No! No! I didn't kill him! Someone else killed him, before he reached the Sendo!"
"You didn't kill him?" Wevlum asked.
"Then who did?" Wevles added.
"I... I don't know..." Zesshou answered honestly.
"Your majesty!" A warrior kneeled. "Our scout has been found!"
"Finally!" Kyen Koh sighed deeply annoyed, "What took him so long? Let me guess, he got lost? You twerps are puny scouts; getting lost in this valley!"
"Your majesty, he did NOT get lost." The warrior gritted his teeth. If the other warriors weren't loyal to this fury, he would have already killed her, "He... got killed..."
Kyen Koh looked shocked, but only for a second. "By who?!" She demanded to know, with fear in her voice. 'Hitori, don't tell me...
The warrior bowed deeply, once again. "We... don't know. The arrow was... from the Chi Tribe."
"The Chi?!" Kyen Koh laughed wickedly and relieved, "Impossible! Nobody survived the attack you did under my sister's reign!"
The warrior offered Kyen Koh the arrow. "And somehow, my Lady, this arrow is made like the traditional Chi arrows... and it's newly carved!!"
