Hitori and Wevli walked on, further into the cave.

“Which way do we go now?” Hitori asked when they reached a room with 3 corridors. “Seems like we are entering a maze lady Hitori. We ought to be careful which way we go.” Wevli said.

Hitori nodded. Luckily she brought some crayons. She marked the way they came through with an X. After that she took a right turn and walked on very carefully. Not much later they reached another room. Hitori marked the corridor with an X and walked to the middle of the room. Suddenly they heard a rumbling sound. CRASH…a huge boulder came from the hole in the ceiling. It only barely missed Hitori. One step to the left and she was done for. With their eyes wide and pounding hearts they stood there, trembling on their feet.

“Why did the boulder come down?” Hitori managed to say.

Wevli looked around and saw something running away. For a second Wevli thought it was a little girl. He didn’t dare to walk and only pointed at the corridor.

“Lady Hitori, I saw something running away.”

Hitori looked where Wevli was pointing, but saw nothing. Very slowly they dared to walk again and looked at the 2 corridors in that room. Only to see that the crash from the boulder had blocked the way they came through and the mysterious creature quickly blocked the other one. They were stuck.

“You are a advisor of nothing!!” Nagata shouted.

“Like you are so smart mister wise guy!!” Kino replied.

With all that bickering, Nagata and Kino didn’t even notice that Hitori and Wevli had gone on ahead.

“Why don’t we let this be over once and for all old man!!” Nagata said while he drew his sword.

“That’s the problem with you youngsters. Never being able to talk. Just draw their sword so everything will be over!!” Kino said proudly, “Lady Hitori what do you think about this madman? He should be punished for threatening an old man.” Kino said, “Lady Hitori?” Kino looked around

“Lady Hitori, Wevli!!!!!” Nagata now called as well while he put away his sword.

Kino and Nagata looked at each other. “This is your fault you stubborn old fool. If your pride of being the eldest so the wisest had admitted that I saw that sign first, we wouldn’t be stuck alone here!!” Nagata shouted again.

Kino made the usual reply. It all ended up in some insults, yes/no quarrel and some other of those meaningless fights.

“Fine, if you don’t admit it then I will go searching for lady Hitori and Wevli myself.” They both said at the same time while they walked into the cave.

Coming into the room with the 3 corridors, they both took another way. Kino went straight ahead and Nagata took the left. Both didn’t notice the little X mark on the corridor.

In the ‘boulder room’ where Hitori and Wevli were stuck, the progress was as much as a yes/no quarrel. The collapsed corridor would be impossible to make free and the blocked corridor seemed almost as impossible. There was something like a switch, but it didn’t seem to do anything. Hitori looked up so she could think better and immediately got a plan. It required some teamwork, but it could work.

Wevli if we could get on top of that huge boulder, we might be able to go the way the boulder came from.” Hitori said

Wevli stood up and looked at the boulder, “I can push you up, my lady, but I am not sure if I can make to the top myself.” Wevli said while he walked up to the boulder.

With his back leaning to the boulder and his hands like a stand, he helped Hitori climbing the huge boulder. When Hitori made it on top she tried to get Wevli on it as well, but Wevli couldn’t make it.

“It’s no use lady Hitori. You go on ahead and come back when you are done.” Wevli said with a definite expression.

Although it was hard to see in the half dark room, Hitori noticed that Wevli had trouble to hold back his tears

“I’ll come back for you Wevli, like a true leader should.” Hitori said and climbed into the hole.

Meanwhile, Nagata kept on mocking to himself, calling Kino names you don’t want to know. He stumbled into a room with 4 corridors, from where 2 of them were blocked. In the middle of it was some kind of switch. Without thinking Nagata pulled it over, but nothing happened. Nagata just raised his shoulders and took one of the open corridors.

Kino was stuck in a seemingly dead end. He wanted to turn around when the wall suddenly broke loose. Not understanding, but actually not really caring either, Kino walked on to the newly formed path.
