“All right then. Kill me Kyen Koh, but make it a quick death.”

Kyen Koh looked at Hitori’s closed eyes. She was defenceless. Nothing could ever stand in the way of her death. Yet she hesitated.

“Kill her!” Lana hissed, “Kill her, slave!”

Kyen Koh’s eyes filled with tears, but the tears were indistinguishable from the rain that was washing over her face. She lifted her sword so she could strike the leader of the Mikomi. She struck. A flash of lightning.

Hitori fell over and landed on her back. No pain, was it over?

She opened her eyes and thought, ‘This is the last time I will see a glimpse of life…’

She saw a reflection of herself in a Mikomi sword. She followed the sword to the face of the warrior and recognized Zesshou’s face.

Zesshou…” She managed to utter.

“No one… kills Hitori while I’m around. No one!” Cried Zesshou.

He raised his weapon and hit Kyen Koh’s sword again. The thrust on her sword was so strong that Kyen Koh couldn’t hold on to it and it dropped two meters away into the grass.

Nagata appeared next to Hitori too, “You’re foolish to think we would ever let you win.”

Kyen Koh grinned, “Ah, you’re that boy, the one we tortured for information, aren’t you? Back in the cave, where you found the Pearl of the Ocean.”

“What? Who told you about the Pearl of the Ocean?!” Zesshou asked in disbelief.

Lana walked up to them, “I did, little man.”

“And who are you?” Nagata inquired.

“I think you all know me. I’m Lana.” Lana smirked and turned around. A big group of Sendo warriors were gathering around the three Mikomi, trapping them in, “Kill them, Kyen Koh.”

Hitori stood up, “Lana?! The one who loves Layou? That’s impossible!”

“It is possible!”

Lana turned around at the sound of that new voice, “You?”

Out of no where Baku walked up to Hitori.

Baku.” Hitori said, “What are you doing here?”

Hana.” Moyasu started, “I know you and Hitori want my Hikari Crystal, the Ruby of the Dragon.”

Hana almost choked in the apple she was eating, “You know about that?”

“Ever since Hitori mentioned those Hikari Crystals when we evacuated, I realized, but I can’t give it to you just yet. There’s something I have to do first.”

“Something you have to do first… For the Chi tribe…”

“Exactly, so I’m going now. To search for a way to bring back my people.”

“What? Bring back the Chi Tribe? But it’s not possible to bring people back from the dead.”

Moyasu raised to her feet, “We’ll meet again Mikomi Tribe member Hana, and thank you for everything.” She smiled and turned around to the nearest tree jumped into the branches and disappeared.

“At least I gave my crystal directly to Hitori…”

Hana looked behind her to see the smiling face of Kino.

“She’s a strong woman. Don’t worry, she’ll be back, and with the crystal. You can count on that.”

Lana, you will never see Layou again.” Baku said seriously, “Our father would never allow it.”

“Our father has condemned all of us, even you.” Lana growled and walked towards him.

“And you know whose fault that is? It’s Layou’s fault!” Baku raised his voice, “That’s why our father had to condemn us, because he poisoned us! Don’t you see? We were once happy, until that evil monster appeared and tore it all apart. If you let Layou return to the normal world, he will bring disaster to everyone alive!”

“You have not known Layou like I have. He’s not evil! It’s not his fault his breath is poisonous.”

“It’s even worse than I feared. He brainwashed you. Look what you have become… I will not allow this killing any longer!” Baku raised his arms and suddenly the ground under every Mikomi Tribe member started to glow, “Kyen Koh…” Baku whispered.

Kyen Koh looked up.

“Come with us… I know you’re not entirely evil.”

Her eyes widened, “I’m not… entirely evil?”

“NO!” Lana yelled, grabbed Kyen Koh’s sword and struck Baku.

Lana’s brother screamed in agony.

Hitori wanted to help her friend, but the light beneath her was blinding her and when the light diminished they were no longer in her village. They were on the other side of The Valley of Endless Rain, nowhere near the Mikomi, Sendo or Chi village.

“Where’s Baku?” Hitori looked around, but he was no where in sight.

The puddle of blood Baku was lying in was steadily getting larger, “Only… a god, can hurt a god…” Baku groaned.

Kyen Koh couldn’t quite catch up immediately. Lana… was Layou’s lover? She thought it was just a coincidence. And Baku was her brother? And she herself wasn’t entirely evil? How did Baku know that? And Baku was killed?

“You killed, Baku?” Kyen Koh managed to ask.

“He’s not dead, it takes a lot more to kill a god.” Lana smirked, “But he is mortally wounded. Tebok!”

The Sendo commander ran to her side, “Yes, ma’am?”

“I want you to take this man to the infirmary and treat him. I will be there shortly.” Lana ordered. She turned to the rest of the Sendo Tribe, “Mikomi village has fallen! The Sendo rule!”
