"You are not my father?" Kyen Koh stared at her father in disbelief, "No… that can't be…"

"It really is true, Mariko. That hairpin is the only lead we have to your parents."

Kyen Koh got the hairpin from her hair. It was quite beautiful, even though it was a little crooked from opening the lock to Baku's chamber. Why was Baku so surprised when he saw this hairpin?

"He must know something about my heritage…" Kyen Koh thought out loud.

"He?" her father asked.

Realising he'd heard her she explained, "Baku. When he saw this hairpin he was really surprised. He must know something. I must see him again."

"Baku, huh? So… he has returned?"

"What? You know him?"

Her father smiled, "Yes. He lived with us in the forest, you probably don't remember him. He dined with us a few times."

Kyen Koh couldn't believe her ears, "I've had dinner with Baku?"

"Good morning, dear lads!"

"What?" Nagata was still half-asleep, "Who…?"

"Chounin! Wanna buy some nice herbs? I see you have a lot of wounded people. You probably need herbs. Herbs are only 20 pesocs, but for you I'll charge only 15. What about it? Huh? Haggle? Or what?"

"Herbs?" Nagata got up.

After rubbing his eyes he could finally make out a figure. A chubby figure.

"What are you doing? From what tribe are you?"

"Tribe? I don't belong to any tribe. I'm a trader, or merchant, or whatever you want me to be. I have some good swords too. They're a little more expensive, but I'm willing to trade a shield for one or two. Or an armour. What about it?"

"Shut up, do you know what time it is?! The sun has barely risen."

"Yes, true, well, the early bird gets the worm, eh, I always say. I got some herbs that'll make you sleep better too by the way. Could slip them in for say another 4 pesocs."

"We're not interested!" The young council member was clearly not in the mood, "Mister, Chounin you said-"

"Jep, Chounin's the name, correct."

"Yeah, well. Please find someone else to annoy. We're on a mission you see and we really need to rest. We're going to retake our village from the Sendo. We're only about a day or so away, so please get lost."

"The Sendo? Now that's funny, I ran into the Sendo about a week or so ago. Or was it ten days?" Chounin eagerly continued the conversation, "Well, anyway, them Sendo were looking for a Hikari Crystal or something. I found a big crystal, well, traded it from the Tiko, whatever, and…"

"Hikari Crystal?!" Nagata yelled, "Go on!"

"Well, it turned out that the crystal I had was not what they were looking for, but just a few days ago I found this map, which leads to a cave and in that cave is supposedly the Hikari Crystal!!"

"How much for the map?" Nagata already got out his bag of pesocs.

"Well…" Chounin pondered, "There's the finders fee… my hazard payment… and of course we must think of the inflation, I'd say about… 500 pesocs."

"Five hundred?!!" Nagata cried, "Uh… well I have to check with the others to see if we have that kind of money… wait up."

"Nagata!" Zesshou cried, "It's Hitori! She's missing!"

"Shuhan, can you ever forgive me? Is there anything I can do?" Hitori murmured while wandering through the forests, "Ah, a cliff. If I take my life… I will have paid for my sins. My sins… I murdered Shuhan. There is nothing I can do to repay what I did. Nothing!"

She fell on the ground, face down in the mud. If she wasn't already drenched from the mud that the rain created, she was now. In a last attempt to get up she fell again and rolled unconscious into the river.

"Urania… I know you're in there… I know you can hear me… I know you're grateful that I took care of you… but I never got the chance to tell you that I am grateful that you've been in my life. Please… answer me…"

"Hey, Kino, how are you?" Hana asked whilst barging in.

"Uh, I'm just fine! The Crystals are safely in my protection, miss!" Kino clicked his heels as if he was in the military.

Hana was relieved, "Good… today is not going to be a good day for us… I can feel it…"

"Moyasu…" Pyro began, "I know you've been pondering about your problems… I don't want to make matters worse, but there are some things you should know."

"What's that?" Moyasu asked.

"Hana, Hitori and the others are all in grave danger… But it's nothing compared to the danger this valley will suffer through a few weeks from now…"

"Ha? What danger?"

"The endless rain… I wonder where all that water will go?"
