Part 7: The worst is yet to come

Hitori put down her plate. She couldn’t eat lunch. She just couldn’t swallow anything. Nagata still wasn’t back. He could’ve been turned down, he could’ve been seen by the Sendo and killed or taken prisoner, or the Chi could’ve killed him. The Chi still weren’t their ally; they just had the same enemies.
Kino entered the room, “Lady, it’s half pas noon, what shall we do?” Kino asked.
“We’ll wait one more hour. Then we’ll take all the Mikomi Tribe fighters we have left and team up with Kyen Koh’s fighters.”
“Very well, my lady.”
Nagata got off his horse, “I’ve finally arrived.”
Nagata had been struggling to avoid Sendo all the time and was running really late.
‘I hope they’ll wait for me…’ He set his hands to his mouth, “HEEEEY!! YO!! I’m here! Chi Tribe!” He yelled.
The walls surrounding the Chi Tribe camp were enormous. They might have not heard him.
“HEEEEY!! Answer me! Please! We need to fight the Sendo Tribe! Hello! FIRE!!! Come on! Respond!”
Zesshou and the Sendo Soldier arrived at the Sendo tribe camp. The soldier walked up to Taoru.
“Taoru, I’ve found this Mikomi child in the woods.”
“What?! How did you…” Zesshou looked at his shirt. He forgot! There was the Mikomi symbol shown on it.
It didn’t take long or Zesshou was thrown in the cell together with Shuhan.
“Zesshou?” Shuhan was astounded, “What in the world are you doing here?”
Zesshou stood up. “Well… Saving you actually.”
Shuhan sighed. “Oh no….”
“Lady Hitori, the hour has come and gone,” Kino stated.
“I know.” Hitori answered, “We’re going! Assemble the troops!”
In just a matter of minutes, both the Mikomi soldiers and Kyen Koh’s soldiers had gathered and were marching towards the Sendo tribe camp. A few soldiers went on ahead to search for any traps, but surprisingly there weren’t any. The rain had already started again, and the soldiers were getting miserable.
Hitori and Hana were walking in the middle talking to Kino.
“This is the plan.” Hitori started, “We’re going to surround them and try to remain unnoticed. We can’t wait until dark, because they might begin executing the prisoners.”
“I must say, it’s a classic yet brilliant move, but when do we strike then?” Kino asked.
“When they’re going to eat. There must still be guards, but not as many as when they’re not eating.”
“I see.”
“Hey Zesshou! Come here.” Shuhan directed him to the backside of the prison.
There was a small hole, but it was not big enough for an adult, but of course Zesshou wasn’t. Zesshou escaped and tried to remain low.
“Zesshou, you need to find the weapons, bring some here and then tell us where the weapons are. That way we can escape.”
“I’ll try.”
“Father.” Kyen Koh whispered, “All our soldiers have moved to the back of the troops, just as planned.”
“Good, my daughter. The Mikomi Tribe won’t know what hit them, when they find out we actually are on the side of the Sendo.” Kyen Koh’s father grinned, “When they think they’re going to strike… we strike!”
Zesshou hid behind a tent. ‘Oh… this is not good!’ He thought while looking to an army of 400 men. ‘There’s no way, that we’re going to win with those odds!’
“Men!” Taoru yelled to his army, “Today, we will have another victory!”
“YEAH!” the army called as if it was just one voice speaking.
“First we conquered the Chi Tribe, and now we move to the next one! The Mikomi Tribe!” Taoru cried.
Zesshou gasped… ‘Then Nagata is doomed…What am I saying? The entire Mikomi Tribe is doomed. I must find those weapons!’
“Where do you think you’re going?”
Zesshou stopped breathing for a few seconds and turned around.
Aiko grinned evil. “HEY! We have an escaped child.”
A few soldiers came running to Zesshou and pointed their crossbows at his head.
“That’s for defying the Sendo Tribe!” Aiko laughed and walked towards the Army, “Today, will be another glorious day for the Sendo!” She cried.
“VICTORY TO THE SENDO!” The army called out.
To be continued
